The Colorado Sun is partnering with Noticias Univision Colorado to host a forum for the Democratic candidates running in the 8th Congressional District.
The event will take place at The University of Northern Colorado Campus on Thursday, May 28 at 6 p.m. You can watch the event live via our YouTube channel below.
The forum will be moderated by Colorado Sun elections editor Jesse Paul and Colorado Sun politics/policy reporter Taylor Dolven, as well as Univision news anchor and executive producer Rafael Contreras.

The 8th District spans Denver’s northern suburbs along U.S. 85 into Greeley. Candidates are vying for the competitive seat in the June 30 primary election. The winner heads to the general election in a race against Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans.
The two Democratic candidates who will be participating at the forum are:
- former state Rep. Shannon Bird of Westminster
- State Rep. Manny Rutinel of Commerce City
Marine veteran Evan Munsing on Wednesday dropped out of the Democratic primary in Colorado’s 8th District. Munsing, 38, suspended his campaign the day before the scheduled debate.
